EA Sports unveils global cover athletes for FIFA 12

EA sports unveiled yesterday that Manchester United and Arsenal stars Wayne Rooney and Jack Wilshire (respectively) will be gracing the cover art of FIFA 12 in UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and the Middle East. Today, however, EA Sports has revealed all the football stars who will be featured on the cover art of FIFA 12 in different regions.

Wayne Rooney, for the first time ever, will be featured on the North American cover of FIFA 12, and will be accompanied by two more players who have not yer been revealed.

Wayne Rooney and Real Madrid star Kaka will be joined with Barcelona FC’s Gerard Pique for the Spain Edition, Giampaolo Pazzini in Italy and Mats Hummels in Germany.

Other players that are included are: Giampaolo Pazzini -Itay, Xabi Alonso – Spain, Tim Cahill -Australia, Valentin Stocker – Switzerland, Vasili Berezutski – Russia, and Balázs Dzsudzsák – Hungary.

“This is an iconic group of players who all passionately play our game, and we are excited to have them speak to fans around the world about their own personal experiences playing the best sports game on the planet,” said Matt Bilbey, VP and GM of soccer, EA Sports.

“With all the accolades FIFA Soccer 12 has received so far we are confident we have the most authentic and highest quality game we have ever created, and these superstars will play an integral role in sharing their excitement for its highly anticipated launch.”

FIFA 12 releases September end for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC, PS2, 3DS, PSP, iOS and the Wii. A Vita release is also planned.
