Donkey Kong is on his… god only knows how many games he has and is still staring in. Tomb Raider is on it’s 8th game with a 9th one prepared to release on 2013. Marvel vs Capcom is on it’s 9th iteration and stll going “strong”. The Silent Hill series has 9 Games to count, with the most recent one being released this year. The Katamari series has produced 10 games to date. Dance dance revolution is up to 20 games at this point.
The Kingdom hearts is on it’s 9th game, with more bond to come. And Dynasty Warriors has produced 7 games so far.

Don’t get me wrong, we here in the west love our sequels too, but to even compare us to the east is absolutely laughable. And this doesn’t just apply to you, I have heard many-a people make these obscene assurtions. The simple fact is, Japan won’t let series that were created back in 1986 die, because if they did, 80% of their video game market would litterally dissappear. The japanese video game market is running off the fumes and sequels of series that should have died a decade ago.

Except for a few points, the fact is the Japanese game industry is soo inflated with gae sequels they make ever ACTIVISION AND EA look tame. Sonic? Mario? Dragon quest? Resident Evil? Mega Man? Zelda? Metal Gear? Gran Turismo? Final Fantasy? Pokemon? Pacman? Tekken? DBZ? Street fighter? Kirby? Gundam? Mortal Combat? Castlevania? Metroid?
Most of the game series i just listed are not on their 3 installment, or their 4, not even their 5th. No, many of these titles are on their 10th iterations. The japenese CANNOT STOP making sequels.
