F-Zero 99 Adds Private Lobbies

The free-to-play multiplayer racer will now allow you to create private lobbies and play with friends.

From new content and modes to limited-time eventsF-Zero 99 has kept up a decent cadence of post-launch updates since it became available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers last September, and the free-to-play multiplayer racer has now received another update that adds a notable new feature.

Nintendo has confirmed that F-Zero 99’s latest update has added private lobbies, which means players now have the ability to play with friends privately rather than having to dive into races with randomly matched online players.

“Enjoy this new way to play with friends, and look out for the appearance of Secret Tracks!” Nintendo wrote on Twitter.

Since its launch in September, F-Zero 99 has also added a number of new courses for players to race on, while in November, the game also added Classic Mode, which changes the ruleset and focuses on 20-player races similar to the original SNES F-Zero game.

F-Zero 99 is available on Nintendo Switch, exclusively via Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions.
