I sit here wondering why this guy is talking about PC while giving put downs about consoles all the while this topic is about the leveling systems of fallout. Some people don't care if a tree in a game looks pretty you know?

morrowwind and oblivion had a good setup, I imagine you didn't play them. skyrim was all around terrible. I was disappointed in the game. if fall 4 goes that direction I will be very upset to see another great series decline.

skyrim is good I love the grind of leveling up perks because that's how you would get better at them is by doing them over and over and over. fallouts good to just no cap level I love seeing how high of a level I can get my character in skyrim

Keep the levelling up system the same as it's been for the previous two games for gods sake! If it ain't broke don't fix it! The levelling system for skyrim was downright horrendous! Worst system ever! What. I'd really like to see in the next fallout is the ability to set up your own factions & take over adjacent towns using barter to set up trade routes or any of the guns/explosive skills to take over by force of arms speech to convince people to join your faction. I could go on but I'm sure you get the idea! But again no skyrim style levelling system for fallout as it was garbage!

The Skyrim setup was junk. Perks were often boring and just stat boosters. Many skills had to be grinded for several hours. Even worse, because it was a tree setup, you often had to take a useless talent to get to a talent you wanted. Make all the talents awesome, and don't require me getting a previous talent just to get another one later. That way I really have to think about how I want to build my character. The system wasn't fun. It didn't add to the gameplay. It was horribly designed. Keep the perk setup and philosophy (perks are meaningful, designed to do something besides just raising a stat) from New Vegas. Reduce the amount of levels but give me a perk point each level. Also, SPECIAL should have a greater effect on skills, like limiting the skill cap for related skills as well as increase the initial skill boost.
