Remember Final Fantasy 7 Remake? It’s been topping the Famitsu Most Wanted Charts for a long time, but there haven’t been too many updates on it. However, with Luminous Productions announcing a new triple-A IP and Final Fantasy 14 producer/director Naoki Yoshida working on a new title as well, it seems there has been some change the directorial role of Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Originally, Tetsuya Nomura – who recently directed Kingdom Hearts 3 – was in charge of directing Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Over on a recruitment page for the game, it was revealed that Naoki Hamaguchi is now a co-director on the project. Hamaguchi was previously the project lead for the remake.

It’s interesting, because Nomura also had a co-director on Kingdom Hearts 3 in Tai Yasue. Perhaps this means that development is proceeding smoothly? Maybe there will be more information on the remake in the coming months? We’re not sure, but at least it’s something after the lack of information till now.
