Kid, know where your place is. The first Legend of Heroes is actually from 1989. Learn some history of one of the most influentual japanese RPG developers, Falcom, before writing nonesense.
Just because something is relatively new to the west doesn’t mean it didn’t exist before. Your ignorance is ridiculous.
Legend of Heroes games are well known for having THE best written scripts among JRPGs… Even LoH 3 – The White Witch (1994) is still considered as one of the best written JRPGs by todays standards. It was called “The most peotic RPG” when it was released.

And i’m not even talking about the wonderfully written Kiseki games.

You have no idea how well known Eiyuu Densetsu aka Legend of Heroes is in Japan, so pls stop saying nonsense.

I don’t believe this poll. I play rpg for years and import most of them from japan. The trails series is the most generic rpg series I ever played. The serie isn’t that old and just copied mechanic s from Tales of and Star Ocean. The story is confusing and bad. You can tell from the start how it will end if you read mangas or play rpg. If this game is that popular is only because of the psvita and the lack of rpg at that time.
