Why doesn’t Nintendo just partner with IBM or something and create their own version of a smart phone? Imagine the same OS as the Wii U, just slightly dumbed down. Makes more sense than just releasing apps. or doing away with handhelds. It would sell like hotcakes in Japan and the U.S. 🙂

While it might make good business sense, I think Nintendo will be loath to take their brand and license it on other systems. Can you imagine playing Super Mario World on your iphone? Just seems sacrilegious somehow.
