I just can't relate, I long ago decided that I would never have to explain myself to my loved ones. If they have a problem with what I like to do and play then they can either get over themselves or lose touch with me. Although the former would make me sad it would be their choice and not mine.

Personally I look at video games as the chance to keep the violent, animalistic, side of me happy. If the church does something really stupid, I can toss a molotov through the window of a virtual church instead of lashing out at the real thing. If someone pisses me right off, there is almost certainly some asshole in a video game that makes me think of them, so time to go hunt that character out an beat the shit out of them/kill them. Instead of speeding down the highway in real life I can blaze down a highway in a video game. etc.
