just bought gears 2 on xbox trying to prepare for gears 3 sad thing is this is the only good game 360 has to look for in 2011

People who bash gears clearly are A. Fans of games that take little to no skill (COD, Halo) or B. PS3 fanboys who still think uncharted is an amazing game despite having one of the most atrocious aiming and shooting mechanics in the history of video gaming.

Remember the last time someone on your team went 32-2 in a game of gears online? It happens EVERY game on COD and Halo because of how easy they are to play online. Gears requires skill and patience, and people who complain about host need to get out the pampers, if you aren’t good, it won’t matter which team has host. I’ve had my fair share of beatnig host teams with no problem, grow a pair.

Considering how much more out of the box gears is than anything else out right now I see no reason to say it feels “dated”….I really don’t know what game you are playing if you think it feels dated…because nothing else really feels mind blowing that’s out now at all lol

Gears 1 was the reason I bought a 360. It was the first game I had seen on the new consoles I absolutely felt like I had to play. I will definitely buy Gears 3, but there are many other games I am anticipating more, such as Mass Effect 3, Uncharted 3, Killzone 3, Rage, Arkham City, etc. I’m hoping when I play Gears 3 my excitement level will rise, because right now I’m not that eager for it. I’m sure as the release date gets closer that will change.

Girls? Are you kidding me? I imagine that everything will stand out in the game EXCEPT for the fact that we will have a bunch of girls running around with guns. Feminism I tell ya; it’s getting out of hand.

what early days? Gears 3 is complete, it was supponsed to release in april, they just moved it to november becase there was nothing else, not because it needed more time

Either it was because the expectations were too high or the website just wants to get an eye-catching headline.

I agree with previous poster, when the first Gears come out in 2006 it was very impressive in both gameplay and graphics, the second one was good but more of the same, it barely had any graphics improvements and no gameplay improvements at all (in any case the gameplay was worse because it was too easy)

from what we seen the third one looks a lot like the others two and the changes are just supperficial

only one hardcore exclusive game in a 2011 is not enough reason to own a 360, which is casual oriented now, and it seems unlilely that they will announce another AAA core exclusive at E3 that will released this same year, unless it’s something quickly put together and bad like crackdown 2 or left 4 dead 2

Same crap, different year. Gears was a good game for the time it came out. Now it just feels dated – and that’s just the single player.

Hope that they’re gonna spend the next year working on the multiplayer – arguably the biggest draw for gamers. The last two hare been broken out of the gates with Gears 2 taking what? 5 patches to get it vaguely playable.

I played the last two games but by the end of the second I was bored with the whole thing. I couldn’t even get on to the multiplayer for the first week or so.

Hopefully there’ll be some good games out for the 360 this Christmas.

the beta should be awesome and i absolutely can’t wait for its release date! it’s just mind-blowing to wonder where the campaign will take us next fall.
