Ghostbusters Actor Says New Game Is In The Works

Ernie Hudson seems to collaborate some earlier rumblings that a new game is being developed.

The Ghostbusters franchise seems to be back in a big way with this summer’s release of the newest film, Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The series has been dormant for a good while, especially so in the video game space. The last time we saw it in the gaming world was Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered, a re-release of the 2009 title that reunited the original cast for a new story. Now it seems the time is coming once again to be busting in gaming form.

Actor Ernie Hudson, who plays Winston Zeddemore in the films, confirmed in a panel at a fan convention that there is a new game in the works. He said they are in the process of doing scheduling for recording, saying that he and Dan Aykroyd will be involved, though was unsure if Bill Murray would be. He didn’t give much details about the project or who was making it, saying that he didn’t know when it would be out. You can see part 1 of the panel where Hudson speaks about the game below.

While there has been nothing official as of yet about this game, as broken down by the Ghostbusters News YouTube channel, which you can also see below, earlier this year Illfonic’s Raphael Saadiq mentioned the company was working on a Ghostbusters game in an music-based podcast. Illfonic worked on Friday the 13th and Predator: Hunting Grounds, pointing to a potential multiplayer title.

Considering how little we know about this game, it’s hard to say when it’ll come out, but either way, it seems the Ghostbusters are going to stage a grand comeback in another medium at some point in the relative near future.
