Oh, sorry I was unclear, I am NOT an Xbox fan. I hate the Xbox. I play exclusively on PC, and there is an incredible “stable” of developers, plus it gets most Xbox games, almost all multiplats, and a bunch of otherwise PS4 exclusive games. I don’t pay for online, I can use any gamepad, wiimote, flight stick, racing wheel, rockband/GH set, keyboard/mouse, mic, headset, harddrives, etc I want, plus better graphics and better gameplay. I’m not a console fan at all, I just wanted you to see that having a company pay another company just to prevent someone else from playing the same games as you, just because they bought a different console is kind of a crap attitude.

You are rooting for a corporation to screw people over. If all games were multiplatform, the console manufacturers would be forced to sell the console based on it’s feature set, thus driving innovation, but as of right now the real selling point is which games they are hording away, forcing you to buy a console you may not want just to play a specific game.

Once again, I won’t miss what I never had. No need to write another big wall of text to an Xbox fan explaining to him why I have never supported the brand and won’t ever miss it. We’ll never agree. I have my own personal standards of ethics and quality for these console manufacturerers, and game publishers vying for my hard earned money and you obviously have none. Talk to me after Phil Spencer buys himself an excellent stable of AAA developers like Naughty Dog, Guerilla Games, or Sony San Diego Studios. Until then, go cry somewhere else.

Sega Mega Drive started charging for online play first. As far as everything else goes it’s irrelevant and proves my point. Either both Playstation and Xbox are both doing those things now, or they have fixed the issues thanks to customer backlash. That’s just how business works. You are standing up for playstation so hard, but fact is they charge for online now, they have had paid DLC just as long, this was never a console or storage issue, DLC came because people pay for it and companies make money off of it, it would have happened anyway.

You can read over your own list here and see the faults in both consoles. They are both guilty of all kinds of issues, the biggest joke is paid online. They are charging you to play games that use P2P networking. AKA, you are host and your friends are connecting to you and you are using your internet bandwidth then the console companies are charging you for the privilege of doing so. If you really think that list of cons dismisses the Xbox, you should be playing on PC, because Sony and Xbox are very close in their practices right now.

Question…Which console brand tried to ban used games sales at the start of this gen?

Which console brand started charging for online play first?

Which console brand had Netflix behind a paywall for 8 years?

Which console brand had been raping their customer base on associated costs of peripherals ever since they entered the console arena?

Which console brand knowingly released a faulty console that was subject to overheating just to get a one year head start on the competing console.

Which console brand held on to DVD technology for 8 years while their competition innovated with bluray technology, which I truly believe may have resulted in the birth of the paid DLC model for all those “complete edition” games that we now see everywhere in gaming today?

Which console brand is surviving today purely on multiplatform multiplayer games because of their new emphasis on paid online subscription services, with no desire or commitment to continue furthering the art of great single player gaming experiences like we’ve always enjoyed in years past?

I could go on and on and on, but if you are able to answer Sony, and the PlayStation brand to any of those questions above, then I will consider your passionately laid out argument further. Until then, my answer is bye bye Xbox. I hardly knew you, so I never missed you.

Why would you promote this? That’s a terrible outcome for everyone… You would want them to keep other people from having the ability to play games, just so the console you like looks better? You should be advocating for no console exclusives at all… Unless you want a single console company to drive the others out of business so you are forced to buy their hardware to play new games, because at that point they can start charging whatever they want for the hardware, software, and online multiplayer, because there is no competition.

Console wars are stupid, and this mindset along with exclusives do nothing but hurt all consumers. You are letting a fabricated conflict make you think that it’s good for a corporation to withhold products from you and your friends/family just so their product appears to be a better buy, when really it’s borderline identical with no real technical reason the software can’t be on both platforms. Stop bending over for them my friend, you’re better than that.

LOL. Thats good to hear because its starting to look like multiplats are the only games worth getting on a certain console who’s livelihood solely depends on its “online engagement numbers”.

With PS4 saturation and marketshare being what it is compared to Xbox, if Sony ever started aggressively moneyhatting big 3rd party AAA multiplat games to become 1year PlayStation exclusives like Phil did with Tomb Raider…Xbox Scorpio would be in huge trouble without those games debuting at the same time on both systems.
