They had already missed their original Spring release date, but Rockstar has now officially confirmed that the heists for GTA: Online have been delayed; Rockstar cited the necessity of additional development time as the reason.
“We know many fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Online Heists that we had planned to release for you this spring, and they are taking more time to create than originally anticipated,” said Rockstar on their “I’m Not Hipster” update post.
“We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can. Please know that we are focused as always on making the best possible content for you to play and we are thankful to all of you for your patience, understanding and support.”
Even though the heists have been delayed, the ‘I Am Not A Hipster’ update is now available for the online mode.
GTA: Online is the online component that Rockstar released alongside GTA 5 last year; it was made available for Xbox 360 and PS3, and will presumably also be making its way to PS4, Xbox One, and PC with the announced release of GTA 5 for those platforms later this year.
