In reply to Matt. Yea I know they can innovate again. Why would they treat the customers and product that put them in the place that they are in today like that. With out half life one or two, or the people that bought it, the company wouldn't exist.

Well HL:1 innovated A.I and world-scripting in a contiguous environment with what were at the time cutting edge graphics… HL:2 innovated yet again with the physics based gameplay mechanics, facial animations and industry leading graphics with the introduction of the source engine. Over the past decade valve has turned most of their focus to their online distribution platform steam while periodically releasing titles such as L4d, Team fortress, Portal, and CS:GO which all have their own massively dedicated communities… Source 2 just came out last year and with the advent of VR there is a major possibility that Valve can innovate the industry again with HL:3.
