thats exactly what i was thinking with the reviews scoring it a 8+.
1 its a expantion pack for 100 AUD.
2 the gameplay is exactly the same as halo 3.
3 the levels are a repeat of the previous levels.
4 it has the worst storyline in a video game ever.
5 the AI is dumb as …. i hop into a vehicle and the AI driving is so dumb they keep crashing into rocks and such.
6 it feels unpolished and messy.
7its extremely boring, they need some combat changes, make the levels different like have battles using environmental hazards or something,
8 it feels like halo 3 just with a different character, that warrants a 8+ and 100 AUD?
seriously people need to wake up, stop being such fanboys and demand better from M$ and bungie.
HALO combat evolved is the best game i have ever played, the others are a massive letdown.
im sick of this “its halo, its perfect we cant give it less than a 8” mentality.
seriously this could be 1 mission long, with only 1 weapon, with bugs never seen before, hell it could rape your mother and people would still give it a 8+
we deserve better, halo deserves better.
DEMAND BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good article. im like you i wish people would just shut up about how much it cost. In reality its an amazing deal IF you don’t own the halo 3 multiplayer maps. That being said if you do own them i can see why it would be a little hard to shell out 60 dollars for it. Just like you said though if you love halo just buy it i you don’t really care for halo wait for it to go on sale. Oh and i don’t know if anyone else has realized this but gears of war was about 7 hours long and i don’t remember anyone else bitching about the price tag on that game. Oh and cell there are 3 brand new multiplayer maps on that disc, i bought all the other maps as well but i still bought odst i bought it for the story and firefight mode. ODST has 2007 graphics because bungie used the halo 3 engine, which is an outdated engine but its not that big of a deal gameplay over graphics sir.

2 years and this is the best they came up with?? Look at Sony, 2 years and they came up with Uncharted 2, a true real sequel, which improves on everything the original did. Halo ODST has 2007 graphics, WTF

the problem is that gamers are expected to pay $60 for an expansion pack, how is that suppose to help us gamers. The fact that Microsoft is taking advantage of the name brand to get more money without putting any effort really pisses me off. The factthat they had 2 years to complete this, and all we get is 5hr campaign mode, horde mode, and all previously paid maps?? WTF??

Hell even Fallout’s 3 DLC offers way more than this game and its all being bundled in one package with the original game.

The fuss is about value. It’s about what I, the video game consumer, ought to expect from a title that costs as much as ODST does. Should I sit back and just accept whatever Microsoft/Bungie says it ought to be? Or should I demand more? If I just fork over my dollars without questioning the quality of the product, then what am I inviting into the game industry? More crap. Less quality from developers. Less value for my dollar. This should be a big deal and I’m glad it is.
