I think Microsoft's arrogance has made them delusional and it shows what their intentions are.

It shows how Microsoft targets existing popular franchises as a goal post instead of creating their own. They focus on stealing or replicating the success of other franchises and milking them to death instead of risking money on original ideas. Microsoft thinks their few franchises are the best. All Microsoft accomplished with their statement is make Halo look bad and Star Wars look like the perfection they want.

Star Wars is popular accross movies, books, comics, toys, commercials, theme parks, cereal boxes, memes, quotes, and video games. Star Wars is a worldwide franchise that has been compared to religions and the story and lore is so rich that fans take moral inspirations from it. Halo is really only known in video games and even then Halo isn't even close to being anything like the story and moral themes found in Star Wars. And Star Wars is also a video game, so how is Halo the Star Wars of video games Microsoft? Star Wars Battlefront?

Microsoft just wants to compete with everything that is popular.

For example, Microsoft saw Gran Turismo and wanted it for themselves so they made Forza.

Microsoft saw Uncharted and wanted it for themselves so they stole Tomb Raider.

Phil Spencer: "I like Uncharted. I wish we had a game like that" "Instead of buying Uncharted you can buy our system and play Tomb Raider"

It seems like Microsoft can't create their own ideas, they will buy an existing one (Gears of War/Minecraft), or they will copy an existing one. For example, Microsoft is trying to make Halo play like Call of Duty.

Star Wars has a popular story, and many reviewers are saying Halo 5's story is bad. If Microsoft wants to keep Halo relevant or like Star Wars, they may need to improve it's story. Anyways, I thought Halo fans didn't care about stories and Halo is only known for it's multiplayer.
