Heavy Rain composer is no more

Sad loss to the music world.

Normand Corbeil, the guy who composed the soundtrack for Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, has passed away, according to a forum post by his son. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on Aug. 15, 2012.

His son, Laurent Bastien Corbeil, wrote: “My father, Normand Corbeil, 56, passed away today at 2:56 p.m. He was a great composer and and amazing dad … I am in shock.”

He was born on April 6, 1956 in Montreal and his other work included Screamers, Penfield, Twist of Fate, Pretty When You Cry and Napola — Elite für den Führer. Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer was the cause of death and age 56 isn’t too old when you think about it.

Beyond: Two Souls comes out this year and his previous work on Heavy Rain was fantastic.

He recorded the Heavy Rain soundtrack at Abbey Road Studios.
