Hello Games Founder Mentions No Man’s Sky Supporting VR

Sean Murray reportedly working on "something big".

Hello Games had a somewhat rough Winter following floods that destroyed their offices and set back work as much as hard drives floating on water would. However, work is proceeding on No Man’s Sky, the developer’s next big title that will feature an open world, space simulation sandbox and procedurally generated content.

You can also VR support to that list. In the wake of Oculus Rift announcing its next dev kit and Sony unveiling Project Morpheus, Hello Games founder Sean Murray tweeted, “First time in years I’ve not been at GDC. So Jelly. Working on something big so had to pull out. Cancelled my talk and a NMS [No Man’s Sky] VR demo.”

This doesn’t mean No Man’s Sky will ship with the same right out of the gate. Games like Thief were showcased through the lens of Project Morpheus, but no details were given on when this support could be incoming. Regardless, what is this “something big” that Murray is working on? Stay tuned for more updates.
