DriveClub may have had a miserable and horrible launch, being roundly panned and becoming an object of ridicule for weeks and months at end, but hey, at least Evolution Studios stuck by the game, and at this point, it has finally started to resemble the amazing and revolutionary racing game product we were originally promised as far back as the original unveiling of the PlayStation 4 two years ago.
But this is not even it- Game Director Paul Rustchynsky explained on his Twitter that the team had more updates planned for the game, including one that works out a very annoying niggle that Photo Mode has had for a while now (where you can’t pan the camera around once the UI is hidden, which makes any spontaneous adjustments pretty difficult).
He also explained that the livery pack that is being charged for separately on the US PSN Store is an error, and that the next PSN Store update should fix it and make it free for all Season Pass owners, as it should be.
He also addressed some smaller issues, such as accusations that the game’s graphics were being misrepresented.
All in all, it’s nice to see Evolution Studios continuing to engage with their community even this far out from launch, just like they promised they would. That, more than anything else, is probably what will continue winning them support in spite of how terrible the game’s launch was.
