Hitman Xbox One X vs PS4 Pro Graphics Comparison Showcases Better IQ And Performance On Microsoft’s Console

Head to head comparison between Xbox One X and PS4 Pro versions of Hitman.

Hitman on the PS4 and Xbox One was a benchmark title, a great indicator about the technical prowess of the hardware it runs on. After the initial launch on the base consoles, Hitman was patched to support the PS4 Pro as well. This includes appreciable enhancements such as bump to resolution to 1440p, faster loading times, better asset streaming, improved reflection quality and texture filtering. But it’s the Xbox One X version that really amps it up with noticeable improvements.

To begin with, the game offers two graphical modes, one that priroitizes resolution with improved visual effects and the other that offers frame rates up to 60. In ‘High Quality’ mode, the game runs at a native 4K resolution on the Xbox One X, a truly phenomenal achievement. This immediately results into better level of detail, higher quality shadows and distant details standing out even more compared to the PS4 Pro’s 1440p presentation. Players can run the game at 30fps or at unlocked frame rates during this mode, however, the latter results into uneven performance so we suggest to run the game at 30 fps instead.

If you run the game at ‘High Framerate’ mode, Hitman renders the game at 1440p resolution at an almost locked 60 frame per second. Now this isn’t a locked 60fps by any means but it performs way better than the PS4 Pro build and reaches the 60fps target more frequently. This is our preferred mode to play Hitman and this mode offers quite a leap over the PS4 Pro version.

So overall, Hitman on the Xbox One X delivers. A native 4K presentation with breathtaking details is available for 4K TV owners. But the 1440p/60fps mode is a complete game changer and if you are an Xbox One X player, this is the mode you are most likely to play the game on.
