Remember HTC’s Vive headset, one of the big three virtual reality devices in the market? It will now be more easily affordable for your average consumer as HTC has dropped the price from $799 to $599. This will be its new price going forward unlike Oculus Rift which costs $399 and will go back to $499 once Summer has concluded.
The $599 package will feature HTC Vive, Tilt Brush, Everest VR and Richie’s Plank Experience with a free trial for Viveport. Using Viveport, you can choose five more games as part of HTC’s subscription service for the month. You won’t get the Deluxe Audio Strap or DAS which is useful for adding headphones to the Vive while providing a comfortable experience.
Still, at about $200 less than the previous asking price, this isn’t too bad. Those interested in the HTC Vive can also look into titles like Arizona Sunshine, Job Simulator, The Climb, Werewolves Within and much more currently available.
