Irrational Games sheds four staff from Bioshock Infinite team

Several key Irrational Games employees and members of the Bioshock Infinite development team have left the company, still with 6 months until the game’s release in February 2013.

The most notable casualties are director of product development Tim Gerritsen and art director Nate Wells, who both announced their departures with design lead Jeff McGann and systems designer Kenneth Strickland also listing Irrational as a past employer on LinkedIn.

Nate Wells had been at Irrational since 1999, being replaced by Scott Sinclair who held the same position for the original Bioshock game.

No word as to the nature of these employee losses has been given as of yet, only Ken Levine taking to Twitter to both inform of Sinclair’s reinstatement and also adding that he “can’t wait to show you what’s cooking.”

Good thing we’re all waiting on a celeriac reduction and not a game then, eh?

According to Gamasutra, Wells’ LinkedIn profile also briefly mentioned Naughty Dog as an employee but has since been removed.

Bioshock Infinite is still set for release on PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U on 26th February 2013.
