My R9 390x GPU alone cost more than your weak consoles. And my 8 core 4.7Ghz CPU is something to brag about not a tiddly little 100 Mhz increase over the PS4 like the Xbox one.
A whole 2.0Ghz more and a whole 8 gig ram to use upgradeable to 32 gig.
Yes it costs a lot more but were talking performance not price here and boy was it fun to build 🙂 Just playing the latest games on a machine you built yourself at such great performance is a whole new experience. And I for one am happy to pay the money for 2k 1440p or 4k 2160p rez gaming @ 60fps over 900p @ 24 fps or 1080p @ 24 fps lol

Excellent performance on both consoles ! Well considering there is already concern about console performance , the ps4 is said to have bad framerate issues along with long load times. I’m pretty sure this issue will be the same with xbox one. Neither of these systems can handle the es newer games smoothly. 30 fps with cruddy framerates. I will be getting JC3 for my pc

Low level? MS has not said that ever. They said Directx 11 with Xbox One extension – Directx 11.3. Directx 12 with WDDM 2.0 virtual GPU memory on the Xbox One hasn’t even been implemented until it gets Windows 10 OneCore. Game engines are just switching over with Game devs just in the beggining phases. So ports that give 20% more GPU and 50% less CPU hasn’t happened yet. The pure Directx 12.x games are just starting to be made.
Directx 11.x/WDDM 1.3 is still being used.

Clearly haven’t looked into WDDM 2.0 virtualization the GPU memory of the XBox One/Windows 10. WDDM 1.3 allows for the physical layout directly to memory like the PS4 runs. Ask yourself will virtual memory layout of GPU/CPU/DSP all the way into the L2 TB/s caches help Xbox One over PS4 which can’t do that? HSA compute verses GPU compute alone. HSA programs run 2-10 faster than GPU compute programs. Is Xbox One weaker? 1st party games run better, while 3rd party lags. The new console update – “relaunch of Xbox One” – is about to happen bringing Directx 12.x, but more importantly WDDM 2.0.

Both systems are good. Xbox One is relaunching with a whole new architecture (MS Wire). Wouldn’t discount Xbox One yet.
