We still don’t know a lot about the Nintendo NX, in spite of the avalanche of news that we had yesterday, but we do know that third parties, especially Japanese third parties, seem to be especially enthusiastic about it. We already have heard publishers like Square Enix and Bandai Namco speak out in support of Nintendo’s new machine- and now, we can add Tecmo Koei to the list of publishers who are looking at supporting the NX when it launches next year.
In their quarterly presentation for the quarter ending March 31, Tecmo confirmed that in the coming year, they will be developing games for the Nintendo NX, in addition to the Xbox One, PS4, PS3, PS Vita, and Nintendo 3DS. They also confirmed that they will be supporting the PlayStation VR headset, which launches in October this year.
No doubt, Nintendo fans are excited about this prospect- Tecmo has a lot of exciting projects, such as Dynasty Warriors, Toukiden, Ni-oh, and Fatal Frame, that wouldn’t be out of place on the NX. Let’s hope the publisher brings its A-game.
