Koei-Tecmo Posts Positive Financial Results For Q3 of FY 2018-19, Will Focus on Creating New IP

Koei-Tecmo have posted their earnings report for the third quarter (ending on December 31) of the financial year 2018-19, and are showing improvements in both net profits and sales year-on-year. As per the report, impressive sales of console games put out by the publishers, as well as increasing growth in the mobile games space, have contributed to their financial results significantly.

By way of mobile games, the title Atelier Online passed 2.5 million downloads. On the console games front, while Nioh Complete Edition has continued to sell well, Koei-Tecmo’s last major releases, Warriors Orochi 4 – which launched in October of 2018 – has crossed sales of 500,000 units worldwide.

In its report, the publisher also mentions the upcoming Nintendo Switch exclusive Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Orderstating that similar to that project, Koei-Tecmo will continue to seek out “large-scale collaborations” in order to “expand the global business through leading partnerships”. Meanwhile, the publisher also plans on continuing to create and foster new IP.
