Marketing and Publicity doesn’t change the fact that Peace Walker is a CANON game in the Metal Gear Franchise. Peace Walker had the full MGS4 team working on it [feel free to look it up]. Peace Walker WAS the next MGS. Being portable doesn’t change that. Marketing and Publicity wasn’t any different, the game just got less attention over here due to the PSP not being so popular compared to Japan. Also its in the HD collection for consoles. It is a legitimate chapter in the MG Saga and can’t be skipped because of the lack of a number. MGS PW was originally MGS5. You can look that up too, it dropped the name because Kojima wanted 5 to be a console, next/current gen game.

mgs4’s marketing and publicity was massive compared to peace walker, so yes, mgs5 should be the next major ‘metal gear solid’ game after mgs4.
