Sorry Jon Shirling is just stating his personal opinion but he has never worked with it. You don’t seem to understand why yes DX12 helps the CPU but what it really does is allow older GPU’s to boost performance and run them faster. It does have a downside it will raise heart on the GPU but guess what MS is clearly prepared for this the heatsink and fan on the X1 is huge.

It’s been confirmed that DX12 has absolutely nothing to do with getting games running at 1080p on the XB1. According to Jon Shirling (Titanfall dev) it only helps in issues where the CPU can’t keep the GPU “fed”. The XB1 CPU is actually more powerful than the PS4’s so if that were the issue the XB1 would already be outperforming the PS4.

Anyway, Shirling said that new updates to the XB1 devkit should help them raise the resolution up higher and that DX12 wasn’t slated to come out until 2015.
