Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Runs At 1080p and 60fps

When 4 players are playing, it falls to 1080p and 30fps.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Nintendo’s enhanced remaster of the superlative Mario Kart 8 from Wii U, will run at a blistering 60 frames per second, all the while maintaining a 1080p resolution, Nintendo has confirmed. The game, when docked, will run at 1080p and 60fps for one or two players, although it will fall to 30fps (while still maintaining 1080p) for three or four players.

For handheld mode, the resolution is naturally capped at 720p, given that that’s what the resolution of the Switch screen itself is. That said, all of this confirms that the game, which was already gorgeous on the Wii U, will look even prettier on the Switch.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be an enhanced port of the Wii U game- it will come with all the base content in the original game, all the content that was added via free updates, all DLC released for the game, as well as a brand new Battle Mode (which was the one major flaw the original game had). It launches on the Nintendo Switch some time next month.
