comparison 2 is flawed, the grainy look is because of the film-grain effect, which can be turned on and off in both ME1 and ME2. But still, ME2’s UE 3.5 does provide better visuals than ME1’s UE 3.0

comparing concept art is really pointless. I was let down by how clean cut ME2 is, not a lot of choice in weaponry and abilities, it feels more like an action game with rpg elements than an rpg with action elements. Still a great game, but not as good as ME1.

I played M1 and now im playing M2 (highest details ofc) but I dont see too much of difference. There is shitty console graphics and i dislike film grain. I think M1 was more playable and a lil better. M2 = less abilities, no inventory window, need to unlock some basic moves like cover, crouch during the game wtf. Planet scanning is time taking and boring.

This is a really poor bit of internet journalism. There is no telling what platform the ME2 promo shots are taken from, though you can assume Bioware used the most powerful PC they have to produce the best results. You’ve used concept art vs a promo screen shot in comparison 3. You’ve used a screenshot with the film grain in ME1 turned on for comparison 2 and treated it as if its a flaw in the graphics. Comparison 4 is a ripped screenshot vs an official promo shot.

If you want to do a comparison article, and this is crazy I know but stay with me, you MAY want to wait until ME2 is out and take your own damn screenshots.

The writer seems a bit biased. The mass effect 2 screen shots are far more vibrant and alive in their subjects and whats happening. The mass effect screen shots are almost all of dirty buildings and bleak backgrounds. There are some much better mass effect screen shots out there. Not saying mass effect has better graphics but the writer has clearly tried to hype up mass effect 2 as being far better than the prequel.
