The technology first came out with Half Life 2&#039;s Lost Coast expansion/ sandbox mod. That was the first time we ever seen HDR in a game...and that was 2004(?) Now suddenly it&#039;s rare? When did developers stop using HDR? Has it just been Bloom effect this entire time? Bloom is basically a way to fake HDR(for those that don&#039;t know)...well, back in the day it was anyway. Nowadays you see PC games using both Bloom and HDR.]]></description>
