Max in open world and arkham style fighting? Just no. There aren't too many linear games anymore and I'm starting to miss them. I LOVE max payne 3 and if they can do something in those lines it will be fine. Without bullet time it's not a max payne game. Who ever wrote this crap is in over his head.

Maybe another unusual and dangerous enviroment as Max Payne 3 did using Brazil would be great. There a lot of possibilities, like Russia, Cuba, etc.

Karma system would be tricky. Max Payne needs the linear 3rd person shooter format if the series is going to have any sense of finality. Multiple endings, or even alternate scenes, would feel very out of place and would totally kill the storytelling and any sense of a grand ending. Max Payne's last big bang shouldn't feel flimsy or uncertain. One man, one ending.

I like the idea of a combat mechanic that allows you to stylishly take lots of bad guys out at once. Sort of like the new Splinter Cell. Something along those lines (Bullet Time should definitely still be a primary mechanic though) I agree that the next Max Payne should have a more personal storyline. Still, maybe Raul Passos could get involved? Mixing the old and new kind of thing? Passos could become his closest friend or his worst enemy in the midst of a violent struggle with his past. I don't know, the story could go so many different ways. It has to be something that deepens the legacy of Max Payne rather than tarnishing it. MP3 pulled it off, so I trust that Rockstar could do it again with MP4.

Well, after rockstart royally FCK UP max payne, i dont want any more max payne games unless the original writer writes the story. Or at the very least reboot it and keep dan houser as far away from it.

I dont thin open world would workd its a story based game.

The fourth game could have Max choosing lethal and non-lethal ways to dispose of enemies, while also taking side-quests and handling them in the same fashion. Max is never far from the scummier elements of society – there may be moments where the player will never feel merciful, even if it’s the “right” thing to do. http://qr.net/sBx9
