It’s not just software sales that are up in Japan – according to Media Create, hardware sales for the week of December 15th to 21st were up as well.
The Nintendo New 3DS XL is up significantly. It sold 108,235 units compared to two weeks ago when it sold 83,041 units. That’s a good 25K units more which shows that people are willing to adapt the new hardware. This was followed by the New 3DS which sold 46,815 units compared to 34,676 the week prior.
The Wii U is also seeing excellent sales with 38,314 units for this week (up from 27,334 units). The PlayStation Vita will never overtake the 3DS XL again it seems but it managed to sell 32,834 units, up from 24,039 units. Sony’s PS4 also saw significantly good sales with 30,951 units helping it inch ever close to selling 1 million units in Japan.
