Ok Mr. Media lover. My family will have so much less fun because the consoles sales are lower than expected. Only time will tell how the sales will look. I really don’t think the twin consoles are in the same class as the Wii U. It’s like racing a horse and a grey hound but ok.

I think, if Nintendo doesn’t see strong profit in the Wii U and decide to continue, I would also feel they will try to rush to first again(Iwata isn’t the brightest as a company president), but it could even be a mid-gen release. If anything, Nintendo should really start looking going the route of Sega but hold on to their handheld devices. Sega actually made much more profit after going to multi-platform releases instead of trying to hold onto their own consoles like back in the day. At the end of the day though, Iwata isn’t going to likely care about the actual profitability and stick to simply how he feels about his systems(Great at making games, terrible as Nintendo president).

Well the thing about Nintendo is, I guess when I say they are in “gear” I mean by that at some point in time(maybe the end of the first quarter or by the second in 2014, but I would say at some point in time in 2014) they can sit there look at Wii U and say we made a profit. (Might be small but I think that is what they are in gear for) I don’t see them “hitting the nitro button “at all as long as that is the case, nor do I believe that they are very much interested in finishing second or third, or the race in general despite some of their talk this year. I think a lot of that talk was just for show overall. However, I do believe that they will have more of a impact in 2014 then a lot of people are predicting, and when you mention Gamecube.. hmmm, you know the thing is, I think the Wii U is going to do better than the Cube overall, not much, but usually when people say the Gamecube they mean only about 20 million in sells. Although I do agree I don’t think Wii U will do rocket busters, but enough as you said to sustain them. (Nintendo) Out of curiosity, If Nintendo does make another console, do you think they will launch theirs first again? I can see it happening after all the U has been around a year longer then the other’s and if Nintendo is only thinking about a 5 year generation, it’s a possibility.

Yeah, its a tough race for second for Nintendo. Japan’s case is a easy call, Sony will take over in the long run but may not do well at the launch in feb for them(I have Japanese friends running U.S Ps4s enjoying them, but the lineup is definitely western focused) vs Nintendo. U.S sales and European sales are in Sony’s ballpark for the most part for first, Microsoft has a iffy ground though overall due to the majority perceptive on them with the xbox one which gives Nintendo an opening for second if as you said they “hit the nitro button”. At worst case scenario, I see the Wii U following the gamecube sales pattern, low sales overall but enough to sustain the console for the gen.

Nintendo is getting into gear (Finally) I doubt their 2014 is going to the disaster 2013 was. Believe it or not if I have been adding the numbers correctly they have actually done better this month then their launch (Which I read was 460K units sold) They are on pace for half a million sold this month alone. (Which considering the year they have had is almost amazing) I don’t think Nintendo will be the Number two system this gen actually.. but I do believe if they stop delaying games they can be a strong number three and the race between them and Microsoft will be very close. It would be a surprise if they finished number 2, but they would need America and Japan to continue strong sells (Cause Europe is not going to carry them) It’s not so much Nintendo needs to get in gear, it’s so much they need to hit the Nitro Button if they want to finish in number 2.
