And that’s another delay for the 3DS.
Metal Gear Solid 3DS, the 3DS remake of the PS2 game of the same name, was due out in November this year, just in time for the holiday rush. However, Konami has now confirmed to Kotaku that the game has been delayed in western territories till 2012. No specific date or even release period was given.
No reasons were given for the delay, but we can speculate. Did they want to wait until the 3DS had actually, you know, sold some units in the holiday rush before they released their game? Did they want to avoid the onslaught of titles that the 3DS is getting these holidays, which includes Kid Icarus, Super Mario, Mario Kart, Paper Mario and Tales of the Abyss? Did they run into some bugs? Did they want to release it simultaneously across the 3DS and Vita, and hence the delay? Did they want to avoid cannibalizing their MGS HD Collection, also releasing in November which includes MGS 3?
We’ll never know.
