I think they blew all their voice acting budget on getting Sutherland. Should have kept Hayter and the rest of the old crew. I am greatly looking forward to MGS 5, but am not happy with their casting decisions.

When you think about it if Kojima is willing to change David Hayters voice to Kiefer Sutherlands, then he probably won’t care if he has to change Major Zeroes voice, so it’s really the voice actors loss.

Also Konami recently shut down a fan made remake of the original Metal Gear featuring David Hayter as Solid Snake, so maybe they are planning to make a full on remake with David and Kiefer 🙂

In reply to The War Braden. id expect that to be the case. kojima/his company must have spent loads on other areas of the game. the money for the lesser known voice actors may not be there. or may be over the budget the game was expected to cost to make. saying that a voice change on major zero wouldnt be the worst thing in the world considering he was last in snake eater so with 20 years difference his voice would change like snake's. whilst fans may not be a fan of the voice change role for kiefer. kojima could well remake the first games in the series where snake and big boss were enemies. due to that the voice change for big boss is also not the worst thing in the world.

I’m probably wrong but this Is get the feeling that he (and alot of the other voice actors) are being paid next to nothing compared to Kiefer Sutherland, for doing the same amount (and in some cases, maybe even more) of work. Obviously Kiefer is a much bigger name, and will have a higher paycheck for this reason, but no doubt some voice actors would be unhappy about this.
