Regardless of Hayter’s departure, Sutherland just sounds bored in GROUND ZEROES.

Every time I play the GZ mission that line reading makes me shake my head.

David Hayter should never have been Big Boss in the first place. It’s like Robert Downey Junior to dub over the actor who played Iron man’s father in Captian America or getting Al Pacino to dub over Michael corleone’s father in the Godfather. Makes no sense for them to have the same voice. His only good voice acting was in MGS and MGS4. He was too cartoony and funny for doing seriousness during certain parts of MGS3 and MGS:PW.

Kiefer Sutherland has done a grand job. listen to all the voice work he did in the MGS GZ pre-mission tapes. But there are a few and remember it is the same few that horde each and every article and youtube video that cry about this subject. They’d be happy if David hayter voiced every character from Snake to bloody The Boss. They are called “Extreme Fanboys” and are not true fans.

I’ve been a fan of the series since Metal Gear came out and will be long from now. The Big Boss series is a different genre all together from the scifi genre that Solid snake inhabits. David Hayter is perfect for playing the unnatural clone super soldier but not as good at playing Big Boss, a normal human being who’s whole life is war and has had more trauma and scars in his life than any other video game character
