Metro: Last Light Copies Shipping with Steam Machine Prototypes

About 300 community members will receive the FPS with their prototypes.

4A Games previously announced that it would support Valve Software’s upcoming SteamOS by releasing Metro: Last Light for the platform. Now, it seems that a copy of the game will ship on the 300 prototype Steam Machines to be shipped to community members according to Valve.

Chief technology officer of 4A Oles Shishkovstov remarked that, “We are excited by the prospect of bringing the ultimate Metro experience, powered by next-gen PC hardware into the living room. Metro: Last Light will be a great showcase for SteamOS and the Steam Controller.”

Metro: Last Light is the follow-up to Metro: 2033 and was released earlier this year for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. It received a good amount of critical and commercial acclaim since then (you can check out our review for the game here). Valve’s SteamOS, Steam Controller and Steam Machines are expected to be commercially available in early 2014. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months.
