Retro Studios have been on a pretty heavy recruitment drive over the last couple of years as development on Metroid Prime 4 has ramped up, and have been looking to hire people in various high-level positions. One of those positions, it seems, has been filled by an industry vet with over 25 years of experience.
As VGC reports, Dylan Jobe has joined Retro Studios as Director of Development, and will be in charge of keeping Metroid Prime 4’s scope, schedule, and quality on track, while also acting as liaison between various development departments to keep production on track.
Jobe has had experience working on several major games over the years, including the likes of DOOM, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, Twisted Metal: Black, and more. He was also the director of the 2007 PS3-exclusive online action game Warhawk.
Retro Studios have been hiring various other industry vets over the past few years, in positions for art direction, character art design, VFX art, and more.
Metroid Prime 4 rebooted development and was handed over to Retro Studios, developers of the original Metroid Prime trilogy, in January 2019. The first person action-adventure title is in development for the Switch, but doesn’t currently have a release date.
