Metroid Prime 4 Developer Hires Former Battlefield VFX Artist

New recruit Adad Morales previously also worked on Visceral's cancelled Star Wars project.

There have been no official updates from Nintendo or Retro Studios about Metroid Prime 4 since the latter took over the project and restarted development, but we do know that development has been progressing well. Retro have been on something of recruitment drive for a few months, and recently, they added another number to their ranks.

Adad Morales recently joined Retro Studios as Lead VFX Artist on Metroid Prime 4. As per his LinkedIn profile, Morales has worked at EA DICE, Visceral Games, and Blizzard Entertainment before this. Meanwhile, his personal website details the games he has previously been involved with, including the likes of Battlefield 5 and Battlefield Hardline. While he was at Visceral, he also worked on Amy Hennig’s cancelled Star Wars game, codenamed Ragtag. Additionally, during his time at Blizzard Entertainment, he worked on a cancelled StarCraft first person shooter.

Morales joins fellow DICE alumni Jhony Ljungstedt, who joined Retro Studios as Art Director earlier in the year.

Metroid Prime 4 is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch, but doesn’t currently have a release date.
