After reporting that the upcoming Nintendo Direct is still coming early this week, Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb revealed that it could be as early as tomorrow. The rumored HD ports of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess will seemingly be revealed along with the official name for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s sequel.
“We’ve heard that Zelda stuff will be there; the name of the next Zelda game and the HD ports of the Zelda games from Wii U. I hope that’s the case, it seems like that should be the case, that’s what we’ve heard,” said Grubb reiterated in the Game Mess Mornings livestream from September 9th (transcription by VGC).
However, it seems that Metroid Prime remaster for Switch could also appear. “Metroid Prime HD Remaster should be coming out this holiday, so we should get that as well.” Grubb previously reported that a remaster of Metroid Prime was “pretty definitively” coming this Holiday season to line up with its 20th anniversary in November. It’s reportedly getting the “big remaster treatment,” as per his understanding, while Metroid Prime 2 and 3 will release separately and feature updated controls.
Electronic Arts is also apparently slated to announce It Takes Two for the Switch (which leaker The Snitch also hinted at recently). Grubb notes, “It should be a pretty robust Direct, and I’m looking forward to it.”
Stay tuned for more details in the meantime, and hopefully for some updates on Bayonetta 3, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, and more.
