Pokken Tournament, the 3D fighting game based on Nintendo’s Pokemon franchise, developed by the developers of Tekken, by using a similar fighting style, will be launching for the Wii U a few months down the line. And we’re learning more and more about the game as its (still unannounced) release date approaches.
One of the most popular Pokemon of all time has now been confirmed for the game’s roster- Mewtwo will be one of the Pokemon you can pick and fight as in Pokken. He was confirmed in the latest issue of Japanese magazine CoroCoro, alongside Garchomp and Braixen (whom you may not know quite as well, but who are still pretty awesome inclusions for a fighting game’s roster).
Pokken Tournament is due out exclusively on the Wii U in Spring this year; going by previous Nintendo Spring launches, it will probably launch on May 29 (the same date that Nintendo launched Mario kart 8 and Splatoon).
