"I mean, yeah, I’d have agreed with him is
the PS4 and Xbox One weren’t struggling to run even basic games at over
30FPS. They may have hit the right image quality this time around- but
as their performance shows us consistently, there is invariably room for
improvement going forward."

One of the few times i agree with Pramath here.

Consoles are not even close to reaching diminishing returns here. CPU and GPU tech have plateau some but this is for the desktop....which is many many times more powerful than consoles right now.

With 4k Tv's, AR, and VR tech....this industry will keep pushing for more power. Even if I find it hard to see how next gen consoles can reach 4k 60fps at a reasonable price....consoles manufacturers will somehow need to do it by the year 2020.

Patcher needs to STFU. His predictions are guesses at best and nothing gamers themselves can't imagine/predict (then back track on like Patcher himself when things don't seem to be going the way he thought).

Ok, Michael Pachter finally gets it. Well sort of. As long as there are new technologies that helps to improve the experience of gaming, gamers will line up, cash in hand, to pay for that experience. And we're talking visual experience in all of its categories. I respect Pachter, but he's old and is trapped in the 90's. He cannot see beyond that point.
