I have been thinking about this…well, the scenario where a 1080p signal is updated for a 4k TV set. The screen dimensions are symmetrical down to a pixel level. So 1 1080p pixel becomes four 4k pixels (2×2). On two screens of identical size (1080p vs 4K), I would hope both look like 1080p, if the 4K set has a basic upscale option.

In reply to Alistair Jay. Proassassin is right. I have a friend who ended up buying those sub £400 4k TVs on Black Friday and even he said that his 3 year old Samsung 1080p TV in his bedroom looked better.

No 4K TV yet, but I’m getting a launch edition Xbox Scorpio. At that time, OLED TVs should drop a bit more.

Does he realize Oculus is rendering two views (1080×1200 twice) at 60 Hz each? The display is fixed, so an increase in resolution only comes with an upgraded headset.

In reply to ProAssassin84. Thats so wrong...We have a £600 4K SAMSUNG HDR set & it is bloody awesome using the Xbone S. You need to do your research on what is best for HDR & also most people are still not aware they need to setup HDR on the console & on the TV to get the best results.
