I hope so. China and South Korea are pretty rich in cultural heritage and I think that works well in rpgs. Also their progression and quality in movies makes me want to see what they're capable of when given the chance. Like to see games developed with similar quality and production levels as those seen in their movies, Who knows it might lead to the birth of something big and new for the industry.

I remember 99 Nights haha, and ur right, they need to focus on China and South Korea. The fact they're now investing in more first and 3rd party exclusives than ever, I feel confident Platintum and Comcept (Keiji Inafune) aren't the only ones they're doing business with. We'll see next E3

So true. It's best to focus on other parts of Asia. China and South Korea for starters. Last gen the X360 got some great support from South Korean developers like phantagrams with 99nights and circle of doom and also the magna Carta rpg from Softmax. In my opinion working with Softmax or Phantagram for an exclusive triple A rpg would yield better results than the final fantasy or Dragon Quest series.
I do think Scalebound will do well not because of it, s Jrpg nature but because it is mainly directed towards a western audience while they're at it could they have Mistwalker's Cry On released.
If they are still interested in Japan though I would say go with Mist Walker like last gen and give Valhalla studios a second chance to do the development of a Mistwalker game.

Regardless of wether Scalebound turns out to be true awesomeness, it won't matter in Japan. I understand Microsoft doing deals with some of the best Japanese devs out, and tryna make some noise over there, but it won't matter! Give up. They're beating a horse that's been dead before launch over there lol.

But I guess this is this guy's job.
