If you buy games from PS-Store using PS3 as an example you don’t need online payments to play the games, while with MS you do ( even when you bought the games )

In other words, you do not own the ‘free’ games you get with PS Plus. Games with Gold actually gives you ownership of the free games they offer monthly, and they are yours to keep forever. Go figure.

What are you even asking here? Xbox Live Gold is required for using online multiplayer functionality of games. This is not different from PS Plus.
