it wouldn’t work form different consoles….but any account that’s on the same xbox can play whatever game that’s on the xbox unless set up parental controls for child accounts.

I’ve been doing *almost* the same thing on the Xbox mate.

Brother in law’s Xbox set as my home one, and vice versa. Buy digital from foreign marketplaces to save money, go halves, can both play same game online at the same time, no restrictions.

Obviously it’s restricted by being only able to “share” with one person, but it’s not as lacking as you presume it to be.

Splitting hairs to be sure, but the difference IS the point of the article. 🙂 Whatever and whenever it happens, playing with friends is always more enjoyable.

Yeah, well, digital sharing is just a theory then isn’t it. As I said, I’ve been sharing games for a long time on my PS4, regardless as to how you want to slice it.

You did actually mention Discs in your other post, and you still don’t get it. SharePlay is not the same thing. Shareplay is someone joining your game for a limited amount of time and playing with you, on your system. Digital game sharing, as talked about in the article, is about LOANING your game to a friend for them to download and play on their system whenever they want for like a week.

oh, and you clearly have me confused with someone who cares what a stranger on the internet thinks of them and what names they might call me. Try having a civil conversation once in a while. But then you’d have to get off your PS4 to do that.

wow, the fact that you clearly aren’t paying attention. DIGITAL not disc. PS4 can’t share digital games either. Even less so than Xbox One.

You might be able to add your friend as a family member and share already, but haven’t tried it from different consoles myself.

Digital game sharing is not the same thing as disc sharing, so your point is invalid. Plus, You know MS announced Digital game sharing when it was launching the Xbox One. Players were going to be able to share games with people on their friends list, and “loan” it to them to play. The game would just be unplayable by the first person until it was “returned”. But because everyone freaked out about Digital Media and DRM(Like MS or Valve would ever take your games back) Xbox had to get rid of the feature. Currently, Anyone in a family on Xbox Live shares all Xbox Live Gold features and games with no issues. This would just be an extension of that. Think of it like the Amazon Kindle Owners Lending Library.
