maybe Microsoft should let you play pc games on xbox one now hahaha.. come one I just want to play Halo 3 on pc with a mouse and keyboard dammit. Halo 1 was so fun! an give us good strategy games back! I miss Ensemble studios 🙁

Meanwhile, Sony who have decided to be complete cancer and still get defenders riding off 2013 over mediocre looking multiplats running at low to medium settings (“BUH MUH 1080P” which was outdated in 2006).

Ratboy why does the PS4 have a dedicated chip designed to harvest info and serve ads? Why has PC Gaming completely obliterated PS4 in pro-customer moves even when Valve messes up?

What gets me is how Microsoft managed to mess this up so much, from what I recall, the PS2 had about 80% market share so when the Xbox 360 came out, it had it’s work cut out to compete with the PS3 but as we know, it did and did very well to get about the same market share as the PS3, Microsoft did very well to get to that stage and now with this gen, Microsoft had the perfect springboard to take market share away from Sony but what happens is that Microsoft messed it up big time, lucky for them, they adjusted fast otherwise things could of been much worse, what a blunder from Microsoft, no wonder Sony been laughing all the way to the bank ever since.

and this is why xbox is expanding into the pc via windows 10 xbox app. They want Xbox Live to be a platform for gaming that spans all MS devices. For gamers that means the PC and the console.

I have been actually a bit disappointed that MS has sat on the xbox pc app for so long without releasing anything for it. Tomb Raider was a start but there needs to be more titles in the store and also some exclusives (not on steam). Maybe they are waiting for a bigger W10 install base before pissing off Gabe Newel (not that they already havent)…who knows.

While i can go on and rant about cross platform play, cross buy, etc…i think the elephant in the room is having to pay to play online vs being free on PC. If MS tries to charge PC players to play online, then by their own admission, the xbox pc app is dead.

Sure some will argue that ms gives you 2 (4 total if you include the x360 games) free games a month so it totally makes paying for Live worth it….but what if those games just don’t interest you? Why not make it an option for those who don’t want those “free” games? In other words, let players play online for free without giving them “free” games if they choose to.

While I’m “fine” paying for live (can be found for as little as 30-35 bucks for a year sub) others may not be.
