Sony had PS4 Pro on their mind before PS4 launched, they’re switching to 3 year hardware refresh cycles. Competition is tough they gotta keep up and Technology progresses fast, the PS4/Pro setup is their best strategy going forward. PS4 Fall 2013, PS4 Pro Fall 2016, PS5 Fall 2019, PS5 Pro Fall 2022. PS4 Pro sells 1 out of 5 PlayStations sold which is expected as a Mid Gen Upgrade.

I don’t know, you have to think about quantity of manufacture. Lower the output the more expensive they are and panels response times are significantly lower than TV which makes it more expensive. Then most tvs are either bottom lit or edge lit but monitors are fully back-lit so more expensive again. Samsungs QLED that launched last year started from about £2500.

Then off course with gsync every panel is manufactured by AU Optronics so I don’t think they would deliberately charge so much as to barely sell any. Not a good business move

Anyway, Red Dead, Sea of Thieves this Spring are going to be super nice on the X. Hoping for Borderlands 3, and Halo this fall. Ive never been one to argue sales, because sales dont make a game better in any way. Sales are what comes after the game is on the market. Maybe if I were a shareholder, whatever floats your boat I guess.

Disinformation? Not at all, my Xpal! The fact is PS4 exlcusives, even at sub-4K, look far more impressive than those compromised native resolution games because MS completely failed to realize when the Xbone got owned so hard in 2013. It’s kind of sad that even with all that power, you have to tout dynamic resolution and unstable framerates with old textures most of the time. 🙂

It looks so bad because the game engine is garbage and the devs are unable to solve the issues.

Too bad that tv/monitor will be priced at outrageous levels though…that will give a few people a heart attack. 😉

On a side note: Doesn’t it bother you that the manufacturers are soaking the public for these sets? Monitors that cost $1000 is acceptable. Even $600 for a 32″ is outrageous….isn’t it??
