People get it just fine. Facebook is deceptive and shady. Always has been always will be. You can argue with me all day long if you want but fact of the matter is there is more than enough evidence that supports them being evil.

It is a social network, not a private network. I think people don't get that. The idea was never for it to be a place to store your private information, it is a place to store your public information. Facebook never said any different, some people just try to make it something it is not. Facebook isn't evil for making a Social Network, people are just ignorant for using it in ways that aren't smart.

Just because they employ people and offer a service doesn't mean they aren't evil. Frankly users are the product not the service. Users give them access to every bit of personal information anyone would ever want. They sell that information to marketers and make massive amounts of money. They are evil because they constantly change their own rules and modify settings which allows others to intrude into your personal information. If you value privacy at all you don't give Facebook access to anything important... Ever.

Facebook has the capital that oculus needs to become a true consumer product so that's great news. Bad news is we all know Facebook is evil. As long as fb doesn't mess it up via getting too involved this should turn out fine

No sane man would not sell his current company for that sum of money, I know I would sell it. Then there's this whole deal with what vibes that is send to the fanbase.

I think that IF Facebook keeps their fingers outside of the Occuls development it could turn out better with so much resources avaiable and in that case Zuckerberg just wanted to get a slice of the cake (or rather the big slice) when/if VR grows big and Occuls happens to be the number one.

It's just way to early to say if this was bad or not, except for those who backed the project who proably feel backstabbed. But with that money and that much potential with THAT amount of resources I have a feeling it can turn out good in the long run.

Time will tell.
