Mirror’s Edge 2 development stopped by EA

Mirror’s Edge 2’s development has been “stopped” by EA.

According to a Eurogamer Sweden translation of a Press 2 Play TV report, the small team at DICE, who were working on the sequel of 2009, parkour-inspired FPS title, showed a prototype to EA and it was “rejected”.

The project hence got stopped and the dev team comprising of DICE members has moved on to another project. Apparently, ther’re now helping the core DICE team developing Battlefield 3 as EA wants to ensure that it can ship out the best possible game in order to compete with the Call of Duties.

It’s unlikely that a sequel will get the green light from EA anytime soon and the ill-fated First Person Shooter, which inspite of receiving broad critical acclaim, failed to do well commercially won’t get a second chance of redeeming itself.
