Codemasters’ upcoming F1 2014, their newest racing game that ties into the new season of Formula One racing, will be recreating the entire season pretty damn authentically in game. This means not just the calendar, the teams, the sponsors, and the racers themselves, but also the venues. One of them? Austria’s Spielberg circuit, that re-enters rotation this year, and which this new trailer highlights. The return of Spielberg sees a classic track with dramatic changes in elevation back to top level motorsport after over a decade’s absence.
The Hot Lap on Spielberg is set by Daniel Ricciardo’s Red Bull RB10; this also marks the first time this circuit will be featured in a video game, and marks one of four all new tracks that this game will feature. The other tracks are the new Sochi Circuit in Russia, the return of the Hockenheimring to the calendar which last held a race in 2012, and the Bahrain Grand Prix which was run as a night race for the first time in 2014.
F1 2014 will launch on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC this year, with an enhanced release for PS4 and Xbox One planned for next year.
